Reports to: Program Director

Work schedule: 20hrs to full time depending on availability of successful candidate.

Compensation: $18-$28/hr. depending on experience and qualifications.

Start date: Immediately

 

Organization: LHCC has served at-risk immigrant and refugee families since 2012; our ministry focuses on Hispanic families in the Charlotte community. As a Christ-centered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, LHCC aims to break generational poverty by providing scholastic, spiritual, and social support to students and their families.

 

Position Summary: The Program Assistant will work fluently in Spanish and English, collaborating with all LHCC staff to complete essential program tasks across the organization. An ideal candidate will be ready to grow in the position and increase responsibility over time.

 

Responsibilities:

Communications:

·        Assist in the development and translation of communication materials (e.g., newsletters, flyers, social media posts) in Spanish and English for Latino families.

·        Help maintain regular contact with families through WhatsApp voice and text regarding community messages and individual concerns.

·        Facilitate parent communications with schools and other entities to support family needs.

·        Assist with regular communication with volunteers and other supporters

Program Support:

·        Assist in the organization and preparation of tutoring materials, including collecting, organizing, and maintaining books, workbooks and resources.

·        Support the planning and implementation of community events and summer camp activities, including assisting with registration, logistics, and on-site support.

·        Assist in the development and implementation of other ministry programs as needed.

·        Assist in the organization and execution of parent-teacher conferences, events and other family needs

·        Collaborate with Program Director and Operations Lead to complete other tasks as assigned.

Marketing:

·        Assist in managing the ministry's social media presence, including creating engaging content, blogposts and responding to inquiries.

·        Assist with maintaining and improving website in Squarespace

·        Monitor social media platforms for relevant information and opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to LHCC’s Christ-centered approach and mission

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.   

  • Passion for serving the Latino community and a commitment to the mission of LHCC

  • Experience with graphic design e.g. Canva or video editing is a plus.

·        Ability to be on-site Tuesdays and Thursdays from approximately 4:00 pm-7:00 pm, and during several CMS teacher workdays.

·        Ability to attend in-person and virtual team meetings.

·        Availability to work occasionally on evenings or weekends special events
